Ransom Richards dies Friday.
Lifelong citizen passes after lingering illness. A citizen of Logan County all his life, Ransom Richards 63 of Henlawson died at 2 am
yesterday April 12, 1940 at his home (Snap Creek) after an illness extending over a period of several years.
Richards, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Richards, both deceased, was engaged in the Timber Business before his fatal illness.
He had spent his whole lifetime in Henlawson, where he was born Oct. 15, 1876.
During the past 20 years he had been an active member of the Holiness church at Aracoma, WVa.
He is survived by his wife, the former Susan Hughes whom Richards married 40 years ago.
Nine cHildren survive the union.
They are: Mrs. Cora Christian of West Logan; Mrs Fonnie Wilson of Peach Creek, Emmett Richards of Halifax, KY.
Artist, Webster, Woodrow, I.B., Orie and Ash all of Henlawson.
Also surviving are 15 Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Residence at 11:00 tomorrow with the Rev. Boonie Pridemore officiating.
Internment will be made in the Murphy Cemetery at Mitchell Hgts., WVa.
The Logan Funeral home at Logan, WVa will direct the Brial Services.

SUSAN RICHARDS
Mrs. Susan Hughes Richards, 70 Years old, of Henlawson died last night (March 10, 1952) at her home.
She is survived by seven sons.
Emmett of Delbarton, WV, Art of Washington, DC, Webster, Woodrow and Orie all of Henlawson, IB of Peach Creek, and Ash of Mitchell Hgts., Two daughters. Mrs. Cora Pow of Washington, DC, and Mrs. Fonnie Wilson of Peach Creek, WV.
Three sisters, Mrs. Lora McDonald of West Logan, WV, Mrs Nell Smith of Barbousville, WV and Hazel Kesick of Huntington, WV; 25 Grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the home of a son Woodrow today till the time of the funeral at 2:00 PM. at the Aracoma Church of God.
The Rev. G.W. Underwood will conduct the rites on Thursday March 13, 1952.
Burial in charge of Aracoma Funeral Home, will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetary at Pecks Mill, W.Va.
Susan was born Feb. 26, 1882 daughter of James H. and Margaret Farley Hughes.

Webster Forest Richards
Funeral Rites for Webster F. Richards of Henlawson are scheduled for 2 PM tomorrow at the West Logan Church of God. The Rev. W. Rex Hudson will officiate and burial will be in Henderson Cemetery at Henlawson.
The body was taken to the residence at 10:00 AM today from James Funeral Home, Aracoma.
Richards succeded early yesterday in a local hospital at the age of 54. He was a self-employed Contractor.
Born April 18, 1911at Aracoma, WVa. He was the son of the late Ransom J. and Susan Hughes Richards.
Surviving are his widow the former Luna conley; three sons, Ransom , Webster F. Jr. Of Richmond, Va.and Jackie Richards of Chapmanville, one daughter Rose Sharon at home; six brothers; Woodrow and Orie of Henlawson, I.B. Richards of West Logan; Ash Richards of Chapmanville, Emmett Richards of Washington, DC and Artest Richards of Doylestown, Pa. and a sister Fonnie Wilson of Chapmanville.
James Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Woodrow Richards, 55 of Henlawson died at 4:30 AM yesterday (Aug. 14, 1968) at Logan General Hospital.
He was an Employee of Omar Mining Company.
He was born June 24, 1913 at Aracoma, a son of the late Ransom and Susan Hughes Richards.
He was a member of Local Union# 5870, United Mine Workers of America.
Survivers include his wife Mrs. Rosie Richards, a son Bobby Richards of Henlawson, WVa. Five brothers, Emmett Richards of Washington, DC, Aretest Richards of Doylestown, PA, I.B. Richards of West Logan, Orie Richards of Airport RD. and Ash Richards of Chapmanville and a sister Fonnie Wilson of Chapmanville.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM. tomorrow at the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church at Henlawson by the Rev. Wayne Damron with Burial following in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Men of the Henlawson church will serve as Pallbearers. The Body will be taken to the Residence at 2:00 PM today from James Funeral Home.

James Art Richards 74 of Huntington, formerly of Logan Co., died Sunday (January 24, 1982) in Gunthrie Mem. Hospital, Huntington, WVa.
He was born Aug. 27, 1907 in Logan, a son of the late Ransom and Susan Hughes Richards.
A World War II veteran, he was a retired employee of the school system in Doylestown, PA.
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Survivers included his wife, Ruby Moore Richards, one sister Fonnie Wilson of Woodbridge, VA., three brothers, I.B. Richards of West Logan, Orie Richards of Pecks Mill, and Ash Richards of Chapmanville.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM. tomorrow in Chapman Funeral Home in Huntington, WVa. with the Rev. Homer Edwards and the The Rev. Billy Mason officiating.
Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Fonnie R. Wilson 72 died of Woodbridge, VA formerly of West Logan died Wed. May 19, 1982 in Virginia.
She was a daughter of the late Ransom and Susan Hughes Richards.
A member of the West Logan Church of God and Sales Clerk for G.C. Murphy Co. She was preceded in death by her husband Troy Wilson on Aug. 3, 1953, one daughter Betty Lou Wilson on Dec. 14, 1978 and one sister and five brothers.
Survivors include four Sons, Gene of Woodbridge, VA., Edward of Dale city, VA., R.J. of Stafford, VA., and Roger of Manassas, VA.,
Two brothers Orie Richards of Pecks Mill and Ash Richards of Chapmanville. Six Grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2PM. Sunday May 23, 1982 in West Logan Church of God. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.

Orie Richards 75, of Pecks Mill died tuesday March 14, 1995 at Logan General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 4, 1919 at Henlawson, WVa. A son of Ransom and Susan Hughes Richards.
He was a former Sanitation Worker, A veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army, and a member of the Mill Creek Church of God.
Richards was also preceded in death by his wife Elva Collins Richards on April 14, 1984 and five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one step- daughter Helen Drakos of Pecks Mill, Two step- sons Lloyd White of Elkhart, INd. and Thomas White, Sr. of Verdunville, one brother Ash Richards of Godby Heights, Five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM. friday March 17, 1995 at the Mill Creek Church of God with Rev. Homer Sipple and Rev. Johnny Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Military graveside Rites will be conducted.

Ash Richards 73 of Godby Branch at CHapmanville, died friday June 16, 1995 at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Devision, Charleston, WVa
He was born Nov. 12, 1921 at Justice Addition, a son of Ransom and Susan Hughes Richards.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Richards was retired from Chafin Coal Company and a United States Veteran of World War II. He also attended the Mill Creek Church of God.
Survivors include his wife Nellie Killen Richards, one son Larry E. Richards of Charleston, WVa several other family members.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM. monday June 19, 1995 at Eavans Funeral Home at Chapmanville with Rev.Homer Sipple and Rev. Orville Syner officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 9 PM. today.
Pallbearers will be Brad Belcher, David MCCormick, Timmy Motto, Arnold Ray Killen, Tommy White, Jr. and Harold Mc Millan.
